Penalties for multi-clienting
I understand there is a penalty to experience gain when multi-clienting. However I feel there should be a penalty to item drops also.
Anything above 2 clients should have an exponentially increasing malus applied to the item drop formula starting at 0.5x until the normal official server drop rate of 1x is reached e.g.
1 client - 5x (default)
2 clients - 5x (default)
3 clients - 4.5x (0.5x malus)
4 clients - 4.0x (1.0x malus)
5 clients - 3.0x (2.0 malus)
6+ clients - 1.0x (4.0 malus)
Origins becomes more egalitarian. At present, there are some players who are running 4+ clients across multiple computers walking around maps with valuable drops and vacuuming up all the monsters. This gives these players the equivalent of a paid for advantage compared to the majority of players who run one or two clients at most as they are able to vastly increase the speed at which they mob and kill entire maps. I feel this is contrary to the ideals of the Origins server and community.
Note, this should only apply as per the current experience penalty. As in only when someone is using multiple clients from one master account. Yes malicious players could circumvent this by using multiple master accounts but that is already against the TOS as I understand it.
