ToS Section 5 Topic 8
Description
Today me and at least two other players got banned for "excessive mobbing" while being in an Otter party. The reason was that supposedly we took over an entire map and nobody else was allowed to level on it. Personally I've only seen 2 players there during about 2 hours of gameplay and every time I encountered them, I left them alone and I advised other members to not bother them. Later on we also left about 1/4 of the map for people to level freely, but soon there was nobody else but us and most monsters spawned there, so we continued going there. And then we got banned. My suggestion is to adjust this rule so that it can't be interpreted by game master however he/she wants. Right now GM can cause to disband or ban any party he/she wants. And since parties like that happen all day everyday, it's an important issue.
Rationale
- 12 players shouldn't lose their rights just because they team up. RO is an MMORPG meant to be played with other people, so we should encourage that, not punish them for it. For now I get the impression that 1 person playing with 3 clients has more rights than 12 unique players playing together.
- With a party of 12 people, obviously other players will have trouble leveling on a given map, cause it will be overpopulated. With 40 Otters divided by 13 or more players that's just 3 Otters/player. Still, if I can mob in such environment, so can anyone. Monsters don't stick to me just because I'm in a party.
- Once my ban gets lifted, I will play in a party again, which means I will probably violate ToS again and get banned again. My character can't even level solo, so what am I supposed to do? Multiclient and play with myself? Sounds like a fun way to play an MMO game.
Additional Information
For now it's super easy to disrupt any party. Look at party chat - if anyone is recruiting members for Otters/Niff/whatever, go to them, pretend to level there and they will have to relocate or be punished because of breaking ToS. Excellent method to piss off someone you don't like. It's way too easy to abuse.
