Please consider adjusting the way party exp penalty is handled right now
First of all, i would like to mention that i enjoy the way the experience bonus system in parties works at the moment because it gives you the incentive to group up with others instead of playing a whole massparty on your own with multiple accounts. However, there is one thing about it that keeps bothering me. It is the fact that with this system it is impossible to leech one of your characters in a party while playing another character. Especially since the introduction of biolabs, i see this as a serious issue for the following reasons.
a) You can not join a party because of class limitations Given the example, that a party i currently looking for a Mobber. You have a lordknight which you really enjoy playing and would love to join the party and mob the hell out of the biolabs dungeon. But unforunatly, your lordknight leveled up to level 99 last night after a 7 hour non stop mobbing session while listening to "Queen - Don't Stop me now" in an endless loop. At the same time you have a soullinker with a pure support build for woe which nobody would take into a party because it has no actual use to the party. What would you like to do in this case? Yes, place the soullinker in some safe cuddly cornor and mob with your lordknight.
b) It really prevents you from doing some cool builds and lowers the replayability of your level 99 characters Back in the days there were some characters which were build purely for the purpose of surviving and leeching other characters in Biolabs3 like chars with extremely high flee and extremely high vit. Just so you could get the most out of the characters when playing in hard dungeons. Those builds do no longer make any sense since you simply can not use them anymore once you reach level 99. This issue even occurs with the non specialized builds. Take a Clown for example who has done his duty with playing the best bragi he can for a biolabs party for countless hours. The moment he reaches 99 he is abandoned and put in some cell in a dark basement and only left out at woe or mvp hours.
c) Some characters are just not ment to be played in pvm I will once again refer back to the poor woe soullinker i mentioned in a). After countless hours of agony while hitting on mantis using his counter dagger to get some little percantage points on his exp score, he decides to leech himself with his hunter at the geographer map. However, with each geographer he kills, he also kills a part of himself because he is doomed to do it all alone without his beloved party fellows. Wouldnt it be great if he could just leech himself in a party?
d) One very serious point - people already do this Im gonna be serious on this one - people already leech themselfes in Biolabs all the time. However, what they currently have to do is asking guildmates to log in their leech character or pretent their "little brother" who doesnt even exist is logging in the leech on a second computer. As someone who does not want to violate the rules, i experience this as a point that is somewhat frustrating. I would really like to have a legal way of doint this.
So thats a lot of sadness gathered up - how could this be solved? I can not give a precise description of how the best solution to the problem could look like as i am not familiar with the way the whole exp bonus thingy is implemented. However, i thought that it might be possible to exclude leech characters from the exp penalty rule. This would require the leech char to activate a command (Lets say @leech?) which would a) exclude the character from the exp penalty bonus, not punishing the party if another (only one) character from the same master account enters the map b) Mute the character (and make it unable to use items and maybe even immobilize him?)
Please let me know your thoughts and if i am the only one who dislikes the status quo regarding this topic
Cheers, stay healthy and have a nice day
