Sure. I'm using i3wm, which is a very minimalistic window manager, and it doesn't come with a polkit agent daemon by default. It's not a problem of Arch or of your package, it's the user job's to add what he wants and need in the config file of i3wm (that's in the philosophy of the window manager to let the user choose what he wants to use). You could ask this other person if he's using i3wm or something similar, and if yes, he needs to install a polkit authentification agent of his choice from this list, and add it in his window manager's configuration file (for i3wm, it would be:
exec --no-startup-id [PATH OF THE POLKIT AUTHENTIFICATION AGENT]
Just installed Parallel Launcher with the AUR package, but I can't get past the flatpak installation when I'm not a super-user. I have this message in the logs.
Error creating textual authentication agent: Error opening current controlling terminal for the process (`/dev/tty'): No such device or address
EDIT: The problem was caused because I didn't have any polkit-agent launched during the installation. Don't forget to check if you have one installed and running on your system if you encounter the same problem.
I feel a bit dumb because the trouble was caused because I forgot to add the polkit-agent line in my i3wm configuration file But thanks to your answer I checked my config file, and now I've added it and it seems to be working :) So, yeah, the problem here wasn't parallel launcher or arch fault lol
