Reflection Illumination
We set up the reflection illumination for epi-fluor imaging in the context of the v6 body, and I love the idea that I can take the filters out readily for bright field images also.
However, I am worried that sliding the cube in and out is putting the camera sensor in danger of getting dirty (maybe already happened) and wonder what can be done to prevent it from getting ruined.
Also, although we still manage to obtain images of the sybr-cell stained nuclei, my first test with our 'cheek cell comets' was very unsatisfactory. Nonetheless, I just came back from the Zeiss scope at the UNIL, where I wanted to double check my slides, and all is as it should be - the assay and all controls worked well. (will put a pic).
I guess I need to modify the version of the reflection illumination LED holder, so I can put in the strong blue LED with (with the power resistor) to see if that will make the difference for seeing comets.
