OS CPAP style PPV
I was thinking about how many of the commercial units use high rpm brushless motors to turn a turbine and as there is a lack of BVMs in some places maybe this could be an alternative. The idea is to use a ducted fan motor that's commonly used and cheap. They're used in radio controlled jet aircraft replica models. Various sizes are available and as they use brushless outrunner motors the controllers are cheap and plentiful too. The motors with fans come with a cowl that could be attached to some silicone hose to connect an inlet filter and the valves/air circuits necessary. The motor/turbine would be in the air path and this maybe a concern for some people due to unknown materials used. Mainly the paint and cowl, but these could be checked and if necessary maybe coated(Not sure about this point!). This would be a much more compact unit, Use less power and light weight. I've been looking over the Medtronic PB560 documents and I think a much more basic system could be built. Any thoughts, ideas, critical feedback welcome.
