Okay I tried it again and it did work @gnachman
Still would love for this to be included officially. I wonder if by getting the python runtime thing and adding that script I added some cpu cycles for it checking every second/minute whether I switched the theme. Not too sure how it works but I believe bringing this feature natively to iTerm would be much better.
Thank you for amazing software.
I couldn't get the custom scripts to change theme work
Waiting for official release from @gnachman
I tried to change theme based of system appearance and tried to use this script:
https://gist.github.com/jamesmacfie/2061023e5365e8b6bfbbc20792ac90f8#file-auto_dark_mode-py
#!/usr/bin/env python3
import asyncio
import iterm2
async def main(connection):
async with iterm2.VariableMonitor(connection, iterm2.VariableScopes.APP, "effectiveTheme", None) as mon:
while True:
# Block until theme changes
theme = await mon.async_get()
# Themes have space-delimited attributes, one of which will be light or dark.
parts = theme.split(" ")
if "dark" in parts:
preset = await iterm2.ColorPreset.async_get(connection, "GitHub Dark")
else:
preset = await iterm2.ColorPreset.async_get(connection, "GitHub Light")
# Update the list of all profiles and iterate over them.
profiles=await iterm2.PartialProfile.async_query(connection)
for partial in profiles:
# Fetch the full profile and then set the color preset in it.
profile = await partial.async_get_full_profile()
await profile.async_set_color_preset(preset)
iterm2.run_forever(main)
I did everything as in instructions but it still doesn't work.
Is this no longer supported?
Really missing this feature. @gnachman can you aid in which area one can look into in the code to implement this if you lack the time for this?
Ok I think it is part of https://github.com/sindresorhus/pure theme that does this. Not sure what exactly causes the relative path to show there. Is it something zsh has to do in settings?
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
Attached my settings.
I bought new mac and setup iTerm but can't get one thing to work and that is showing relative path in iTerm tab name. On old mac I saw this:
On new mac (with same settings of Title), I see this:
I found there is PWD option:
But that lists full path not relative path as I want. I don't get how to get relative path to work. And if I do go to /
it would show that of course.
Thank you.
I would help pay for the hosting if the price is concern.
I would love to have the notes be available freely to all and not as a folder of html files users have to download to see.
I maintain my own wiki of notes similar to the side that you have here.

Thank you.
