About nFIESTA

nFIESTA (new Forest Inventory ESTimation and Analysis) is an application (PostgreSQL extension) developed within the DIABOLO project financed by the EU's H2020 research and innovation programme. nFIESTA implements general and flexible estimation procedures associating NFI (National Forest Inventory) field data with auxiliary data from various sources (typically products of remote sensing).

Unlike other existing applications, nFIESTA makes it possible to calculate estimates based on (pooled) NFI data provided by several countries which typically use different (but statistically sound) sampling designs. A comprehensive information about the work done within the DIABOLO project can be found in a technical report.
