macOS 10.11 lacks `sort -V` option, which breaks configuration
macOS 10.11 (and, I presume, earlier) is such that the built in sort
binary doesn't have a -V
option. But two recent changes to version.sh
and mkchangelog.sh
have added calls to sort
that invoke the -V
option.
This results in a broken ./configure
phase:
sort: invalid option -- V
Try `sort --help' for more information.
fatal: ..: '..' is outside repository
./version.sh: line 18: [: -eq: unary operator expected
(The "line 18" error descends from the missing -V
option.)
macOS 10.13 does not have this problem (its sort
does have the option in question). I don't have a 10.12 machine to check on right now, but I'll have access in the next couple of days.
