Flying with an elytra while teleporting continues to make you fly even when you unequip it

I was doing /spawn on MCO while flying with my elytra (without rockets) and when i teleported there, i continued to fly, but it didnt stop once i hit ground. I was basically stuck in the flying position.

I did however find a way to get oneself out of this position, and that is to just crouch.
