Media not being added to gallery

Summary

Multiple users are reporting that images uploaded to posts are not being posted in the media gallery pages:

Steps to reproduce

1. Make a media post
2. Observe it does not appear in sidebar widget, or in your channel when filtered down to image / video.

What is the current bug behavior?

Media is not added to the sidebar gallery widget, and seemingly to the actual gallery (when filtered)

What is the expected correct behavior?

Media creation should propegate.
