Document taps & targets configs for users on the website
Currently the tap/target config information is only in the .env files and not easily discoverable. We could expose the information on the website similarly to: https://deploy-preview-516--meltano.netlify.com/docs/plugins.html#tap-zuora
Also, the documentation for Extractors and Loaders is focused on the CLI experience and there are not instructions for how to use each from the UI. Now that the UI is becoming the more central focus, we should break out the instructions for doing things from the command line into the "Command Line Tools" section and focus the users on how to do things within the Meltano UI itself.
@bencodezen Handing this off to you, this is the vision I have for this:
-
create a UI-based step-by-step guide for configuration of each plugin, with screenshots(broken out into #1097 (closed) and #1098 (closed)) record a video for each one showing it being set up end-to-end and embed in the page-
add link to logo on home page to take user directly to each extractor -
reconsider tap-carbon on home page -
create branded landing pages - Should be more focused on the benefit, put the "how it works" lower down the page
- This is not documentation
- Both inside the UI and outside on the website
- Make sure they work for SEO purposes
- Make sure they work as landing pages for ads
I think this should be pretty quick, and you've touched most of these now in your UI work. It would be awesome if you could also do this with an eye to filing UI/polish issues wherever the guide is challenging to write.
