As discussed in https://gitlab.com/groups/meltano/-/epics/51#note_447314605, we will be implementing https://gitlab.com/meltano/meltano/-/issues/2390 instead of the configuration profile functionality described in that epic. At the same time, we will remove the undocumented profiles functionality that's already been partially implemented.
