Explore potential for out-of-box data repository, data lake, and/or SQL interface layer
While many potential users of Meltano will already be bought into a specific SQL platform, some users likely have not, and some may have other reasons why they would rather start fresh in a new DataOps-friendly ecosystem rather than tying more dependency to their existing/legacy SQL platform.
There are a few options we could explore for serverless or turn-key data platforms which are still modern and scalable.
Meltano currently ships with guidance regarding spinning up a docker-based PostgreSQL database, but it would be potentially valuable to add support for a more modern, scalable, and cloud-friendly option such as Spark (perhaps on Databricks?), ClickHouse, or similar. Importantly, we should strive to support at least one turn-key platform which is capable of scaling storage separate from compute, which is not the case with traditional RDBMS systems like PostgreSQL.
Another option would be to provide scripts to setup a new Snowflake environment, assuming users would spin up a 30-day Snowflake trial, which only requires an email address.
