Jobs to be done with MeltanoHub

Goal with this is to document some of the main jobs to be done by MeltanoHub to help guide design and architecture decisions. Original launch blog post.

Meltano:

• discover available plugins for Meltano the DataOps OS
• find and use reference docus for using these plugins

Singer:

• discover available taps and targets
• understand the overall quality (commits, usage, maintenance status, updates) of any given connector
• understand the overall level of support of any given connector
• understand how to use a tap in conjunction with a target (and vice versa) alone and with Meltano
• find resources on how to build a new connector
• Learn about the Singer specification
• programmatically access the available taps and targets as well as the settings for particular connectors

General:

• enable maintainers to present themselves well, showcase the plugins they maintain, potentially be reached by users
• enable users to contribute new plugins to the Hub
• enable users to correct / improve plugin information
