Create narrative & contextual layer

Introduce a section for narrative Stories, linking Rules with narrative experiences of groups.

Options:

  • Could storytelling be invited and integrated in the "Explain" layer of Modules? Or does it need to be distinct from the functional layer? It could be:
    • "Explain how XXX works"
    • "Is there a story or reasoning about its importance to the community?"
  • Consider the example of wampum: "Wampum was a contract, but it was inseparable from the oratory structure of negotiating contracts, which was also meant to protect and communicate the shared values of your community. It was a record of an agreement that had been reached through the process of storytelling as communication. Wampum is a process of encoding abstract agreements — stories are literally woven into the material."
  • Could embed stories in modules alongside the descriptions as another kind of metadata
  • Needs to be something users will themselves find value in contributing
  • A best-practices discussion forum?
  • Integrate story-writing into the authorship process more directly, as annotations
  • Attach discussions to a particular Rule by ID number
    • Gamify the number of likes and comments on the Rule
    • Use this to make the Rules more works in progress
    • "Issue" logic for complaints and improvement recommendations
  • Enable users to become "master rule-makers" with widely liked and discussed rules
