Publish a new version

Creating this to check and have a place to discuss about if there is anything left to be done before publishing a new version of the lib so that it can be used by other projects (like beets for example 😉)?

The current issues/merge requests currently still opened:

• !3 (merged): Only needs a rebase and can then be merged
• #6 (closed): As I commented there, I don't really see how this could be done
  • Did you have an idea on how this could be done when writing this issue?
  • If not, I would be on the side of publishing a new version

Anything else?
