Feature request - Run multiple jobs at once
I (as many other I would assume) have an exclusively SSD PC (Windows 10) which allows for much faster transfer rates. I have noticed that for some reason, running single jobs in the latest version of mkvtoolnix GUI (51.0.0) but also in the previous ones, does not take advantage of the full read/write speed of my SSDs.
I have run a few tests with some mkv files with an average size of 2,50 GB, here are the results:
- Automatic single jobs (5 consecutive jobs): It took 53,64 seconds, which on average is 10,728 seconds to run each job.
- Manual "Start jobs immediately" of 5 jobs simultaneously: It took 26,43 seconds which on average is 5,286 seconds to run each job.
- In my case, anything more than 5 jobs, although faster than the singles jobs, was slower. Although I'm sure that using NVME SSDs for both source and destination would allow for a much greater number of simultaneous jobs.
That is more than twice as fast.
So, if possible, I would like to request the feature of choosing how many concurrent jobs are run at once in the job queue.
Thank you.
