I chose File->Get Info for the MKV file, and indeed, the default "Open with:" application had changed itself to MKVToolNix.
I manually changed this back to my preferred app (VLC) and then selected "Change All." This did fix the default app, but now all of my MKV files have the MKVToolNix icon on them. I restarted the machine. I used OnyX to rebuild the LaunchServices database. I restarted again. All MKV files still have the MKVToolNix icon.

I recently looked in the MKVToolNix directory and found a locale subdirectory containing 13.5 MB of foreign locale files. I do not speak any foreign languages and have no use for these foreign locale files, so that's 13.5 MB of precious disk space being wasted.https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/-/issues/3341AppImage v67.0.0 won't start: g_memdup2 is undefined symbol2022-04-25T18:20:50ZmoppmanAppImage v67.0.0 won't start: g_memdup2 is undefined symbolI'm using `AppImage v67.0.0` on Debian Testing.

`AppImage v66.0.0` is working fine.
I then mounted both AppImages and noticed that `libgobject-2.0.so.0` is present in v67, but not in v66.
Not quite sure what to make of this, but maybe recent changes in the build system (0e34984bae59c6c4c3d56367eeb9ea58f459dfe7) have something to do with this?https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/-/issues/3223MS store manifest suggestion2021-11-18T14:01:33Zstax76MS store manifest suggestionI'm working on adding my [mpv.net](https://github.com/stax76/mpv.net) app to the MS store, while investigating this I looked at your manifest file here:

If I understand correctly, then the mkvtoolnix console tools cannot easily be started from the terminal unless the user manually adds the folder to PATH.
I came across an article about this topic:

Since 3 years the setup does not show any Wizard Image under Windows 10. I can not check how is going under English language dialog, because it seems check the local configured settings, not UI settings, and I do not want to change all the settings. Under VM with Windows 7 it works fine with all languages, even more - it allows me to select the language I need to run, perhaps it doesn't recognize English USA.
Point 2 - just question.
2. I think it had to run automatically English if can not find the required language, but instead it ask me to choose one from the list. It is not the same if setup find the required language (region) - then it ignore user choice and start directly with specified. Is it correct?

I tried adding the APT source for 18.04 instead, and the official 38.0 package works just fine, so this is definitely an issue with the AppImage.
It's kind of ironic: I still run static binaries compiled over a decade ago with no issues, but I've had nothing but trouble with AppImage which was supposedly going to "solve" the distribution problem.https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/-/issues/2482error on upgrade to v30.1.0 on Fedora (dependency issue)2021-11-14T11:28:17Ztraycolderror on upgrade to v30.1.0 on Fedora (dependency issue)Here follow the error I have when upgrading to version 30.1.0 of mkvtoolnix on Fedora 29 through DNF.

Hello,
I know you had [issues with the installers of 12.0](https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1807438#post1807438), but they aren't completely solved: Currently, the installers for 12.0 are unsigned.
