Server communication error when using default search

Build number: v3.2.3_Fri Jun 21 00:01:37 2019 -0400

Default Docker Deployment.

When I open Mayan EDMS and search for anything via the default search field "Document" (I would assume this is the default search and searches through everyone?), I get an error which looks like a timeout.

It's quite a beefy VM and I don't have that many documents. A timeout here is unexpected. The Advanced Search>Content returns very quickly so I would assume that this search should return similarly quickly.
