Export as frames

Export as frames works very well however if using no background in Glaxnimate and then exporting a PNGs the background is black. I was hoping I could export as PNGs and then use FFMPEG or Imagemagick to make a GIF (since export to GIF is not working). Is there a setting or workaround which would allow me to make a GIF from frames with a transparent background?
