Become a founding Warden node operator
Warden is a network of independent nodes. Each node holds a share of one key, and the network releases a decryption key only when an on-chain condition is met. Maktub uses it so a sealed letter can't be read before its timer runs out.
Where it stands: Warden runs on testnet with 5 nodes. All 5 are run by the project, so it has no real security yet. The next phase needs independent operators running a threshold of the nodes.
Who we're looking for: universities, research groups and organisations that care about public-good cryptography. Variety matters more than numbers.
What you get: operators are credited, not paid. That means founding-member status, acknowledgment in papers and a live deployment of threshold cryptography to study. Infrastructure costs can be reimbursed if that's what makes it possible for you. Operators never receive tokens (decision D-037).
What it takes: a small always-on server, a Base RPC endpoint, and a commitment from your institution rather than one person.
- How to join: operator manual
- Roadmap: 07-roadmap
- Threat model: 05-threat-model
