Cannot change list identity settings without setting subject prefix

Going to a lists identity settings page and trying to change a lists description and information, then press save and get "This field is required." under the Subject prefix field. You cannot leave it empy and have your other changes take effect.

Many lists don't want a subject prefix and prefer to keep this blank.
