Default welcome template confuses new users

The current welcome template which is sent after confirmation of subscription has this line:

To post to this list, send your email to:
  $listname

We recently had the opportunity to use mailman3 for communicating with many newcomers. When they signed up for the list, after seeing this welcome message, they would send a mail with their email address as the body to the $listname address.

When we asked, we got to know that they were interpreting the above line in welcome template as "if you want to post to this list, send your email address to $listname" which is a misinterpretation, but nevertheless one that could be avoided.

I know that we can customize the template on our instance of mailman (and I'm going to do that right now), but it maybe useful to fix it in mailman core as well.

I would suggest the line be reworded to

To communicate with the list members, you can email the list address:
   $listname

Perhaps there is an even better wording.
