Cannot use --openssl option to build_ext anymore
In version 0.21.1, it was possible to build the Python modules by calling "python setup.py build_ext --openssl=/some/location", which was useful when your OpenSSL library is installed in a non-standard location.
With 0.22.5 and the latest Git as of today (2e839976), this doesn't work anymore, as it fails with the following error:
swig -python -D__x86_64__ -I/usr/include/python2.7 -I/usr/include -I/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu -includeall -modern -builtin -outdir build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.7/M2Crypto -o SWIG/_m2crypto_wrap.c SWIG/_m2crypto.i Unable to open file build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.7/M2Crypto/_m2crypto.py: No such file or directory error: command 'swig' failed with exit status 1
Also, it would be useful if
--openssl could be passed to the standard
build command rather than
