Write PDFs with compatibility level 1.4

Set a fixed version to avoid warnings when embedding the generated PDFs with XeTeX and cater for future updates in Ghostscript. This restores the setting present before commit ddfd0b4f ("Add option to use Ghostscript API instead of forking").
