feel free to contribute, it would be a step forward if we want to bring back ipv6 compatibility at some point, as it would allow us to make sure that users are covered.
to check, one would have to go to /etc/sysctl.d and then look for a file with the ipv6 config (eg. in arch it's called 40-ipv6.conf, in ubuntu it is 10-ipv6-privacy.conf). inside that file look for net.ipv6.conf.all.use_tempaddr and net.ipv6.conf.default.use_tempaddr and report their value in the comments.
for NetworkManager nmcli c show "InterfaceName" | grep ipv6.ip6-privacy will show you what you need.

- privacy implications of ipv6
- privacy addresses are not bulletproof, they still have a portion that identifies the provider, so VPNs are still valuable.
