LibreWolf v112.0-1 crashes under Windows 7

Issue:

I'm filing a report on this, since no one else has. There seems to a problem with LibreWolf v112.0-1 which makes it crash under Windows 7. I'm not running Win7 myself, but it came to my attention, when posted by a user in a forum where I'm registered.

Other users have reported the same issue @ Reddit, so it's not an isolated event: https://www.reddit.com/r/LibreWolf/comments/12k9vxq/

Apparently, Firefox is unaffected by this issue.

Elaboration:

Posted by the forum member that I mentioned:

I updated to v112.0 and when I start LibreWolf I get this:

librewolf-bug-win7-fC8YL2U_co

When I close that error nothing happens I can continue on with LibreWolf, but when I close LibreWolf I get that same error twice. Running it on Win7 SP1 x64.

Event Viewer gives me this in error section:

Edit: Workarround

  1. Go to about:config
  2. Set network.cache.shutdown_purge_in_background_task to false
