More specific satellite modes
A few days ago I wanted to pull out the list of AX.25 satellites from SatNOGS DB. However, it turns out this is impossible (or quite hard) because the modes used to describe the transmitters in SatNOGS DB are things like "AFSK1k2" and "FSK9k6", which are not very specific and not very helpful when trying to choose a matching decoder for a particular satellite. However, there is the distinction about FSK, GFSK, MSK and GMSK, which are all very similar (and often difficult to tell apart) and usually the same kind of FSK decoder will work for all four.
More background info here.
Maybe it would be appropriate to rethink how to classify the different satellites according to the modulations, codings and protocols they use.
