The steps are simpler at https://tails.net/install/linux/index.en.html , but compromising HTTPS is the single point of failure. I would like the osinfo-db package to automate verifying this trust chain. I have the osinfo-db signed by Ubuntu's keyring. Then I would like osinfo-db to contain Tails OS's GPG keyring or hash. That would allow me to just click the row in `gnome-boxes` and rest assured that there is a trust chain from my running OS all the way to the downloaded VM. ### Disadvantages When I launched it at https://distrosea.com/select/tails/ , it said that running it in a VM is not recommended. I personally just want to use `gnome-boxes` to download it quickly to answer questions at https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/tails-os , so I don't know what privacy experts might say about this. Please do not add this feature without adding #187 first, as hiding the verification from the user will lower security.
