Eigen Copyright statement
Hi there dear Eigen team,
We've been implicitly including Eigen library into our Android app. In the project we use some in-house SDK (made by another department), which uses a Jumio SDK, which in turn claims to include Eigen library in some of it's built
.so libraries (Jumio is a proprietary library with no sources available, so we cannot verify that fact and just relies on the info they provide in their GitHub site: https://github.com/Jumio/mobile-sdk-android/tree/master/licenses/Eigen).
There's a legal requirement in our company to provide to the user a list of all FOSS libraries used in the app, together with their respective licenses and copyright statements. There's a license info on Eigen's page and in this repository (although I'm not sure if Jumio used some LGPL parts or compiled Eigen with
EIGEN_MPL2_ONLY option), but I couldn't find a copyright statement anywhere.
Usually a copyright statement looks like this:
Copyright © 2010-2020 JetBrains s.r.o. and Kotlin Programming Language contributors.
In case of Eigen it could be:
Copyright © 2008-2010 Gaël Guennebaud <email@example.com> Copyright © 2006-2008 Benoît Jacob <firstname.lastname@example.org>
But looking at the sources there're more authors. Should I include all names? Or do you have another copyright statement which you'd prefer library clients to use when referring to Eigen? For example, something similar to the above mentioned JetBrains copyright:
Copyright © 2008-2020 Benoît Jacob, Gaël Guennebaud and Eigen library contributors.
Sorry for a non-tech question here. INAL (just an Android developer), but I'd like to put a proper credit to the authors and also keep it compliant with legal requirements.
