binary file executable issues, Fortran runtime errors
When I run nemoh v3.0.1 using the windows executables (from the latest releases), using the command line, on the test cases, with my projdir
exactly as suggested in the Nemoh_manual_v3.0.1pdf (Section 3.3 Running), there's some weird behavior:
- the only test case that I can get to work (eg, running
./../bin/mesh
) is the "6_box_coarsemesh" test case. I realized why: it is the only case that has themeshfile
(meshbox
file, in this case) and values in the file. None of the other test cases have thismeshfile
in the directory, or if the file is there, there's no values in the file. - when testing other test cases, trying to run
./../bin/mesh
, I get an error: Fortran runtime error: End of file (screenshot below) - when I copy the values from the
meshbox
file to theNonSymmetrical
file in "3_NonSymmetrical" test case, for example, themesh.exe
runs fine (but I assume it's wrong because theNonSymmetrical
meshfile
has themeshbox
values in it). - in other tests, to run the
mesh.exe
andpreProc.exe
for the "6_box_coarsemesh" test case, I have to manually create the 'mesh' and 'results' folders in theprojdir
, otherwise there is another error: Fortran runtime error: Cannot open file './mesh/Hydrostatics.dat': No such file or directory - this suggests to me that for some reason Fortran
mkdir
is not working, which could also be linked to Fortran not being able to write values to themeshfile
when runningmesh.exe
(themeshfile
is created but not values are written in, causing the error described above). - I've tried a whole bunch of windows-related things like disabling firewall, admin rights, unblocking the .exe files, etc. To no avail :(.
- I've tested a few test cases ("3_NonSymmetrical" and "6_box_coarsemesh") using the MATLAB wrapper that comes with the NEMOH package, which both run fine. I noticed that the meshfile is not generated for these test cases after running them using the MATLAB wrapper.
Any ideas for what I can try to get the command line approach to work? I don't want to use MATLAB for various reasons. I've attached my projdir
for reference: NEMOH.zip
