Fan Duty Remains at 0% even when fan profile is applied
Bug report
Step 1: Are you in the right place?
-
I have verified there are no duplicate active or recent bugs, questions, or requests -
I have verified that I am using the latest version of GreenWithEnvy (GWE)
Step 2: Describe your environment
- GWE version: 0.15.4
- Installed from source/Flatpak/AUR/other (specify): flatpak/Flathub
- Distribution name and version (e.g. Ubuntu 18.10): Fedora 35
- Desktop Environment (e.g. Gnome 3.30): Gnome 41
- NVIDIA driver version (e.g. 415.27): 495.44
- CoolBits value (4, 8, 12, ..., don't know): 12
- GPU (e.g. Asus Strix OC 1080 Ti): Zotac AMP MAXX RTX 2080 ti
Step 3: Describe the problem:
Cannot apply a fan curve. GPU fans wont kick in, even with the fan profile is set and applied.
Steps to reproduce:
- Installing GWE from Flathub.
- Setting coolbits value to 12 from the xorg.conf file.
- Start GWE
Observed Results:
- Able to set fans on any custom fan curve but fans are not spinning as fans remain at 0% duty.
Expected Results:
- Apply any fan curve profile that starts both gpu fans.
