VDL is an open source project to create a virtual data lake implementation.
Virtual data lakes enable applications to connect to data sources and mix-and-match the data. They provide fine-grained access control so that the owners of the data can control its use. They support data-centered architectures.
This implementation is written in java and is available under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).
A jarfile for the implementation is available from the dist directory of this repository.
The implementation uses the org.lacibus.settheoryrels package developed by the settheoryrels project and the json-simple package developed by the Github json-simple project. Applications will need jarfiles for these packages as well as the vdl jarfile.
The program is described in its documentation. The documentation of the classes in the triplestore package, which implement the basic concepts, is the best place to start.
