Add pad in PCB Editor does not seem to work properly

Description

In the hotkey list of the PCB Editor there is an "Add Pad"-command with no default hotkey assigned. I assigned the hotkey "Alt+P".

When I use that hotkey, it is possible to place a pad in the drawing area. However, I cannot move or edit the pad afterwards. When I reopen the PCB Editor, the pad will disappear.

Expected behavior:

  • Edit and move the pad after it has been added
  • No disappearing after restart of the PCB Editor
  • (Entry in the "Place"-menu)

Adding a pad not belonging to a footprint would be a nice option. It could be implemented similar to the "Add Via" option.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set hotkey for "Add Pad": Preferences -> Preferences -> Hotkeys (search for Add Pad an assign for instance Alt+P)
  2. Use the hotkey to place the pad
  3. It should be possible to place the pad in the drawing area
  4. Try to edit or move the pad afterwards
  5. Restart the PCB Editor, the pad should disappear
