KiCad V6.0.0 crash
This was my first report:
I am seeing some very strange behavior with V6.0.0 eeschema. Throughout the process of drawing a schematic it has acted strangely at times, but not repeatable. Holding down the mouse button too long seems to shift it into panning mode - instead of moving the intended object. Now, it is locked up. I can move the cursor within the drawing window, but it won’t move into the menus. Occasionally I can get the cursor to move to the other monitor, which is how I’m writing this. Since I can’t get to the menus, I can’t save my work. Both the center button and the right button put it into pan mode. I also have pcbnew open and I can see that by selecting it on the task bar, and it exhibits the same behavior. I’ll leave it open for now. Anyone have any ideas?
I continued experimenting. Not sure what I did but it started working again. I immediately saved my work. I had been adding or creating footprints, and using the "Footprint assignment tool". It seems that when I opened the tool is when this problem first occurred. Now that it appears to be working correctly, I attempted to open this tool again, with the same results - locked up; can't move the cursor out of the drawing area, etc.
At this point, having saved my previous work, I closed the program using Windows Task Manager. My project consisted of a root and 2 pages of schematics. One of those pages now opens blank - just the frame and title block. PCBNEW opens with some of the components at the last point where I had saved it.
These schematics were originally drawn in V5.1.12. When V6 was released, I opened them in the new version and everything appeared to be normal, so I proceeded from there, placing new symbols and linking them to footprints until this happened.
