Can't save derived symbol to other library
Description
It does not seem to be possible to save a derived symbol to another library. When doing so, it complains with the error message:
Even if I save the parent symbol to the new library, I still cannot move the derived symbol to another library as the error message persists.
Steps to reproduce
- Ensure you have the official KiCad libraries installed.
- Create a new global library or project library (lets call it
MyTempLib
) - In the symbol editor, attempt so save the symbol AD797 (under
Amplifier_Operational
) toMyTempLib
(Right Click Save As... -> Select the target library) - Notice the error message is displayed.
- Now attempt to save the parent symbol (NE5534) to
MyTempLib
- all works fine: - Repeat step 3. Same error message is displayed.
