Wishlist: Pcbnew. Allow custom mapping of layers when importing a non-KiCad board file
Description
Due to differences in inner workings of EDAs, the importers have to make assumptions on how to map layers in the non-KiCad design to KiCad layers. In some cases, however the logic might not be adequate for a certain situation (e.g. the user might prefer to map a documentation layer to F.Silk instead of Cmts.User, for example).
This is a request for addition of a "layer mapping" dialog to be displayed to the user once the layers of the non-KiCad board have been parsed. This dialog could be pre-populated with the best attempt at mapping the layers, so the user can just press "Ok" if they accept the default mapping.
Steps to reproduce
Pcbnew
- File -> Import -> Non KiCad Board File
- Unable to select custom layer mapping
