Lck File Problem
Description
The project is stored on Googledrive which is mapped to G: this is to allow me to access the project from one of several machines. Often, after updating the PCB I get the following warning
The file is present
At one point during the early releases of 8 or 9, similar problems occurred but were resolved.
It only occurs after the PCB editor has been opened and is not 100% reproducable. Deleteing the file will stop the error temporarily with no bad effects, but it looks like some kind of cleanup is failing.
Over the years, I have 2 occasions where KiCAD has problems with projects stored Google Drive. One was found and fixed the other went away, so no one checked for it. It would be useful to know if they have a common factor; is there some type of file IO that Google Drive does not like?
Steps to reproduce
- Open the project from G Drive.
- Change some details and then export to PCB
- The problem may or may not manifest itself.
- If the lock file is deleted the error message goes away.
- The problem seems most likely to occur the first time KICad is run on a newly booted windows machine. FlashCube.zip
