Variants: Not possible to take changes in footprint back

Description

I tried out the new variants management in KiCad 10, hoping for an easy solution and it looks great! It is much easier to use than I ever expected. Nevertheless, during trial-and-error testing, i found something that I think is a bug: I added some variants to a resistor, including one with a different footprint. Im Pcbnew, I then have two footprints - what actually makes sense. But when I wanted to change to footprint back to its initial footprint, this is not possible - I can pick any other footprint, but the initial one. I didn't find a way to erase this doubled footprint.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add a version in new KiCad 10
  2. Change a footprint in the added version (refresh Pcbnew)
  3. Changing it back to the original one in the symbol's menu
  4. You can choose it, click ok, but next time you open the menu it's the previous footprint
