Eeschema/Libedit: grid size dropdown in toolbar (a la Pcbnew) (lp:#1811018)
Original report created by Evan Shultz (evan-shultz)
The re-arrangement of menus and dialogs in the nightlies is wonderful, but
one change initially confused me when using Eeschema and the symbol editor:
that is bringing the grid out of the general options and into a separate
(tiny) Grid Settings dialog invoked from the View menu.
It would feel more user friendly to me if the grid could be selected from a
pulldown list in the toolbar; this would somewhat match the track/via/grid
pulldowns in Pcbnew. Several clicks could be saved when the grid is
switched using a toolbar pulldown. While I don't switch grids often when
designing a schematic, this is very common in the symbol editor when making
and reviewing symbols (I'm a librarian) and it does add to the time
required to review a symbol PR. The symbol editor also has more free space
in the toolbar for a new UI element if that is a concern.
Also, I am not finding a way to switch between Imperial and Metric grids
nor select the Full Window Crosshair in the symbol editor (there are
options in the View menu of Eeschema).
