Wishlist: SCH Reference Designator Prefix Annotation
Description
Currently, Kicad is able to assign front or back prefixes through the second tab option "Reference Designators" in the geographical reannotation tool (only in the PCB editor, a very useful and much appreciated feature). This prefix assignment is helpful if the board will be made into an array with other PCBs for manufacturing. This way there won't be instances of duplicate reference designators across an array of dissimilar PCBs for assembly.
It'd be great to add this prefix feature into the schematic editor's annotation options. This way an alpha-numeric prefix can be assigned to indicate which board the reference designator comes from, and if geographical reannotation isn't needed there can be a simplification of steps and avoid back-annotation from PCB to SCH.
If there is a plugin I'm missing for this please send along.
