Bug in KiCAD Bug Reporting Process

Description

Current behaviour

After one submits a bug report, the bot automatically closes it even though you followed all of the instructions.

Desired behaviour

When one goes to edit a bug report, there are two things that should be made clear before one submits a bug report:

  • Bug reports will only be accepted against the latest version of KiCAD
  • Bug reports will only be accepted if they contain version information

I wasted time submitting a bug report incorrectly twice due to these things not being declared up-front. If it just put me back with another chance to edit the report, that’d be fine, but it creates the report, then clsoes it, which is very annoying. The bullet points above should be added to the template to prevent this problem in future.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Submit a bug report against KiCAD 6.0.4 instead of 6.0.7
  2. ???
  3. Profit!
