# Power-hour
## Proposal
Residents do common tasks* in common once per week: everyone meets at 10:00 on Thurdays, discusses what to do, then does it.
### Background info
Maintenance tasks are repetitive and uncreative: not so fun. Doing maintenance tasks allows everyone to be more spontaneous and creative: fun! Thursday is propsed because yellow bags are collected every second Friday.
### Advantages
- more reliable: you can relax knowing that the work will get done
- increases autonomy: people can use their awareness for more useful things
- promotes equality: work is distributed
- more fun: the work itself becomes more fun when done with others
- promotes community: people come together
- more inclusive: new people can easily contribute
- simple: less effort than using a rota
- resilient: process is self-monitoring/self-reinforcing
### Disadvantages
- reduces autonomy: people have to schedule their time
- conflict potential: disagreement over what common tasks need to be done
- potential inequality: variation in numbers could mean few do the work
#### Suggested tasks*

## Matthias
This would actually need a database and not a list, because the importance of individual tasks depends on how many people are home and what the status of the houses is. Also, the granularity of task recording depends on how well an individual knows how to clean and what the standards of the other people are. The short-term solution are multiple lists.
