Login failing during initial setup

Hi, been using the app for quite so,e time and haven't had any issue. Now something seemed to have failed on my server's side and I reset all clients I had. I am running nextcloud in a subfolder on a ubuntu + apache server, have bought a SSL certificate and checked the whole config as correct. Am running the Nextcloud client app on Android without issue. Android Apps using the Nextcloud android app api to connect connect without issue. GPodder connects through the webview grant access successfully. Only NC Passwords fails there:

• using the QRcode scanning just hangs after sending request (can see in Nextcloud security settings that a new app password is created)
• using the webview - grant access flow with login-password successfully logs me in but then I can see the redirections going: grant -> login again (here also I see a new creation in the securituy settings)
• using the webview - grant access flow with app password manually created just hangs there forever.

Have uninstalled - reinstalled a few times, tried a gazillion time to login, never succeeded. HAve checked a few config parameters on my server to be what they're supposed to be. See this thread that could be related: https://help.nextcloud.com/t/how-to-make-apache-serve-js-map/202468/8
