CallerID comprises name & number. Some mobile providers pass CNAM (not number part) to subscriber handset.

This does NOT require a special verizon app (that is a different service). CNAM still presents on incoming calls on root'd devicea having uninstalled ALL verizon bloatware. It is retained in the Call Log.

Other mobile carriers offer similar fee services.
