Using 99% spoiled denatured hydrogen is just a hack to get 0% spoiled (always fresh) critical denatured hydrogen, without affecting freshness of other recipe products. Once Factorio 2.1 is released, this can be fixed: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?p=688697
