Installing on Windows
At present there is no installer package for Windows. However, doing a manual install on Windows is extremely simple and only takes about two minutes.
Go to the tags page and find the list of downloads for the most recent Phonix release
.zipfile into any directory that you'd like. (This can be accomplished by right-clicking on the
.zipfile and then selecting "Extract all...").
phonix.exeon the command line from the directory where you've extracted it.
phonix.exe language.phonix -i input_wordlist.txt -o output_wordlist.txt
Since Phonix is a command-line tool, there is very little that needs to be installed or maintained other than this. Within the extracted directory, you'll also find several example files and a copy of the Phonix manual.
If you'd like, you can add the directory where you've extracted Phonix to your
environment variable, which will allow you to invoke
phonix.exe from anywhere on your
computer. Use the following command, replacing "Path\To\Phonix" with the path to the
directory where you extracted Phonix:
setx PATH "%PATH%;C:\Path\To\Phonix"
