Transmission costs and compressing data?

Hello. Can you give any guidance on if its worthwhile to try to compress the data sent from the 9704 launchpad sketch to try to minimize costs, or maybe thats done internally by the 9704 module so not neccessary? Eg the HTTP message sent here is quite lengthy so maybe in a real world usecase the parameters could be compressed into a single bit stream parameter or some such?
