Current workaround:
OMERO requires ZeroC Ice with rather specific version. At the moment of writing, 3.6.5. That version is not possible to install on with Python 3.11 and newer due to a bug. Fixes have been available, but for the newer ZeroC Ice version (https://github.com/zeroc-ice/ice/pull/1394). These bugfixes are backported to 3.6.5 and can be installed using any of the following URLs:

Python 3.11 build fixes
When updating image background subtraction, I am always getting
"Couldn't find entity in Gel images"
in the status bar. Probably we just change the image object and the update signal doesn't work in the on_update method (https://gitlab.com/iocbio/gel/-/blob/bbf5a6992d5174c871f93757a2f3f8168760b936/iocbio/gel/gui/models/table_model.py#L313)
Right now we have rather cryptic warning message displayed in the case where
